You would think that being in the Netherlands would spare me the burning heat I had to bare in Spain. HOW ABOUT NO. The world turned into an oven and I am loving it. Besides the fact that everything I wear is just melting off, I have nothing to complain about. I absolutely loathe cold weather and don't even get me started about the flu that comes with it.

Since we're totally besties, I feel it is appropriate to tell you my feelings and occasionally blurt out the f-word. As much as I have tried, I can not stay away from your show. I don't want to watch it, because that shit makes me depressed and amazed at the same time and by brain just can't process all those feelings at the same time. 

Ever since I went to university I feel like I gave up on my dream to become a stylist one day. Like the step to academic knowledge had to override creativity and all the fun stuff that my awesome internship promised. But I miss it. I miss the rush of excitement when I am on a set, the endless opportunity I felt when preparing a shoot, the crazy schedules I barely survived and the amazing, talented  people I had the honor to work with. I miss it like crazy and I feel like nothing can give me that feeling of contentment like styling and assisting did. 

Obviously I won't let anything kill my vibe, and as you suggested I just keep on producing and producing everything until I get it right. Ever since Reckless I feel the dramatic urge to style so bad that my fingers tingle and my heart just beats out of control until I put some ish together. So that's the plan. Work until you're amazing.

Changes.

I look at my stats and I can't believe that people actually still visit my blog. whoever those people are, HIGH FIVE YO !

Since the 12th of February quite some things happened, and I guess I just needed time to deal with everything. I got tired of the whole circus of fashion and blogging and promoting and spam. So I took a break. Mostly spent my time looking at ceilings and reading books, but mostly I was preoccupied with not wearing makeup.  Originally I just thought of quitting the whole blog thing, but dude 2 years is a lot of investment. So I decided not to.

The problem is, I felt like my blog didn't "fit" me anymore. I was tired of writing about brands and taking outfit posts and I just wanted to be in the studio and work on projects I wasn't going to publish. I am nothing like the 16 year old girl who started this blog three years ago. All I knew is that I liked clothes and I liked writing. That's it. And honestly, at that age your body is effortlessly smokin' and you love yourself a little too much than you are willing to admit (Example A, look at all those little exhibitionist little teenagers on ANY social network). But then you grow up and you learn that there is more to fashion than just a pretty dress. And that between heaven and earth there is more than just fashion. In those two, now almost three years later, I have been forced to think and look at myself in the mirror, with all the embarrassing memories that pop up with it. I guess the biggest lesson in these years was that I need to be my own person. Too many times have I looked up too people or tried to be something else than myself, while, let's be honest here, I am kind of an awesome person. I guess fashion was disgusting to me for a while because it felt like I was "following" someone else, instead of making my own path. But dude, I am 19 now. It's fucking weird and I feel old. I even believe my boobs are sagging a bit.

I have seen the beauty and the beast when it comes to blogging, from self-absorbed little ho's to conscious, honest writers who just want to talk about life. But most importantly, I discovered the people that are in between those things. I talked to a lot of people, asking for advice. And the wisest think alike, for their plea was the same: blog your life for you, not for others. And I guess that's what was wrong. I blogged for others, wrote what I thought my readers would like and soon it felt like my blog existed outside of me and every day more it felt like a chore.

But, I'm over that now. Sometimes I will have something to write. Sometimes I won't. But I will bore you with it nonetheless. I made this blog for me, to start with. And when it was all about discovering the fashion world it was all fun and exiting and new, and I loved it ! So that's it. This blog is mine, and I will post whatever the hell I want. And if you don't like that, drag your sweet ass to that red X up top because I am ready to rumble honey boo boo!

Long Live The Reckless And The Brave

Sometimes I swear to myself that I will calm down and will start relaxing more. But then the urge to do some work just gets to overwhelming and I end up diving in a billion plus five projects and then oh well. I give up.  Last week Luca had the patience to sit through one of my shoots, which I shot in our uni's studios. Maria Valls and I had a blast trying to figure out the lights, stared shamelessly while Luca was doing her thing and made absolute idiots out of ourselves. Quite a normal day.

For the pre-fall collections, creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Picciolli took a purified look on their Valentina of the fall. Imposing pure lines and unfussed elegance, they provided a line of strong pieces, overwhelming by their (lack of) color, invoking a sense of unprecedented luxury.

Hello Beautiful people! As I promised, I'm semi-back to throwing my thoughts on the internet, while strategically ignoring the pile of other things I need to do instead of blogging. Anyways.

Unfortunately my days of hopping around piles of designer clothes and nights of watching cats do funny things on the internet are over. I must say I felt quite important telling that girl from Chanel press office that I really really REALLY needed that bag in two days and that ewmahGAWD her hair did indeed look fab - I turned into that student that walks around campus in a baggy sweater and boots. No regrets whatsoever. Did I mention that I'm in Spain?

Even though the weather here is SO bad, I really hope that I can finally wear my summer clothes without getting a cold ... One can dream right ? Unfortunately I won't be having too much time to be lazy this month because I have way more important things to do: the photoshoots keep stacking up but you won't hear me complain AT ALL ! 

[ LOOKBOOK ] Just Cavalli Resort 2013

I am so digging the Just Cavalli resort 2013 collection, I don't think I have enough adjectives to use. Although I preferred the more simple and streamlined pieces of this collection, I feel like the entire collection deserves praise. Inspired by India and it's ethnic decadence, the collection is a tribute to mixing the different perspectives of fashion. Globalization, anyone?

I may have my doubts on mixing neon green and animal prints - let alone combined with an psychedelic explosion of other prints - but it somehow worked.

Sporty glam seems to be everywhere nowadays, and Just Cavalli is no exeption to that. Loose, easy going looks yet tappe à l'oeil, one can simply not pass by unnoticed dressed in this. And famewhorey confident as we all are, isn't that what we're going for ?

Now please, can we all take a moment and appreciate the maxidress above, it's simply jaw-droppingly gorgeous.  I mean jungle-leaf mixed with pantherprint? In neon green ?  I just can't.

Do not even get me started about this dip dyed, fade to grey pant ! Good grace.

Ranging from typical Cavalli-overload to the simplicity and cleanness of the white silhouets, the collection feels schitzofrenic in a really really good way. What I most like about it is that every item is a throw-on-and-go piece, easy to spruce up an entire outfit, while it still looks good mixed and matched. A+ !

[ NEWS ] Maison Martin Margiela x H&M

Breaking news when I woke up this morning : MMM is the next H&M collab ! After getting the blogophere buzzing about the upcoming Anna Dello Russo collab, they stunned everybody by releasing this to the world. SAY WHUUT.

Fashion noobs, let me explain to you why this is an international shock :

H&M is the go-to label for accessible, fits-all fashion. Maison Martin Margiela not so much.  You know how they say that some fashion is ment to be art? Well that scentence got MMM signed all over it. A neo-yeti creature, a dress made out out hair combs, they have done it all.

SOOO to get this high-fashion brand to announce such a collab leaves me.... curious. How on earth are they going to work with H&M and still keep their identity ? Is the world ready for them ?

Well I don't even care if the word is ready, they better get ready RIGHT NOW 'cause it's happening y'all ! I'm so exited to see how it turns out ! It is only obvious that I'll keep you guys posted, as soon as I get my hands on a preview I'll share that ish !  So save the date, November 15 it's going dowwnnnn

Is that time of the year when every student drowns in self-pity and the ultimate torture of a tête-à-tête with their books: Finals. Only the thought of it horrifies me months beforehand, let alone now, when I have no choice but put my beloved laptop aside ( lol no I'm not doing that) and actually focus on marketingstrategies and projectplanning. Then to find out that apparently my posts didn't post themselves really bummed me out. I'm telling ya, don't be impressed by technology until food is downloadable and you can get hologrammes of Harry Styles in your room.

Turns out that the busiest period for my internship is perfectly planned to be during my finals (yay for timing) but also at work they decided to call me every week to come and make money. I'd say fml, but it's not done. I miss my blog y'all ! So to get myself forgiven I have some yummy giveaways planned, anddd loads of good news, yay ! I'm sacrifiying myself to give you a light in these last few almost-but-not-yet weeks before summer. Shoulder tap for moi. 

So while I perfection the posts with celebration, here some other good news: fashion brand Springfield launches their first cosmetics line ! How can we not be happy with yet another addition to our 'waste my money'-list?

[ Beauty ] Color my Pronails

I think by now you noticed that I always like to paint one nail differently... Actually just because I can never pick a color that I want, so I just put both :p

I'm absolutely in love with this Catrice nailpolish, it's one of their Million Styles Topcoats! Multicolored gorgeous flaky that looks best with a dark ( prefferably black ) background. The orange color is so incredibly me  that I don't even have words for it. I love orange.

Downer is that it didn't really last though. The Catrice topcoat did, but the pronails polish chipped really quick even with a topcoat. Bummer :( The NYC one took 3 coats to be really  black, so never buying that one again !

Overall, I'm sticking to the catrice one for dear life and will have to deal with the pronails one cause I'm absolutely LOVIN the color :O
